Hello to Everyone👋🖐

In this article, I am going to share my experiences with the Web Developer Virtual Internship Program at LetsGrowMore, but first of all, I’ll be going to discuss in detail about this internship program and how you can apply for this.

What is LGM-VIP?

LetsGrowMore organizes a 1-month long virtual internship program, often abbreviated as LGM-VIP, every month where interested students can register themselves in the preferred domain and have their skills tested. If you want to know more about it, you can visit their link.

At the time of writing this article, LGM-VIP has four domains from which students can choose from:

  1. Web Development
  2. Android Development
  3. Data Science
  4. Campus Ambassador

I chose the Web Development domain, so I’ll be discussing about it in the article.

How to apply for LGM-VIP?

To apply for LGM-VIP, you need to visit their website, and then there, you need to choose the preferred domain out of the multiple present there.
To know about the internship of the selected domain, click on the Info button. After reading all the details and rules of the internship, if you think you can do it, then click on the Join Us button and then fill up the form.

If you want to know about the internship program in detail, you can also watch their YouTube video and also join their LinkedIn Community and Discord Server! They are very humble and will respond to each and every doubt of yours!

Is it for me?

LGM-VIP is for everyone.

You just need to register yourself for the internship and wait for the welcome letter. You will receive a mail when you are eligible for the next batch. For any confusion, you can watch their YouTube video.

Prerequisites

For LGM-VIP, there are no prerequisites. You just need to create a GitHub account (for storing the codebase), a LinkedIn account (for task submission and updates) and an optional Discord account (for communication with LGM members and doubts clearance).

The Web Developer Internship at LGM

Your wait is over! Finally after the informative round, comes my experiences with the program!
So, in each domain of internship, there are certain tasks to complete, out of which a certain number of them are mandatory for the certificate, whereas, for the LOC, you need to complete all of them. To know about the tasks better, you can watch their YouTube video.

In the Web Developer Internship, there are 3 tasks:

  1. Beginner → Create a single page Website.
  2. Intermediate → Create a web application using create-react-app.
  3. Advanced → Student Result Management System

In order to complete the internship, we needed to complete at least any 2 tasks out of the 3 mentioned. For the LOC, all the tasks were needed to be completed.

I selected the beginner and the intermediate tasks (as I’m not that pro-grammer 😜). You can check out my Beginner Level Task as well as the Intermediate Level Task for reference.

After we’ve coded the tasks, we needed to upload the code to Github and also post a screen recording of its code and demo on LinkedIn (with proper tags and mentions). You can see its sample here for your reference.

When the submission time began, we received a mail containing the details of submission form, where we needed to fill up the required details:

  1. Link of task Github repo link
  2. Link of task video post on LinkedIn
  3. Link of a blog about your LGM internship experience posted on Medium or LinkedIn(this one is that only!😅).

Once done with the above, we would have to wait for the inspection to finish and then if everything would be right, we’d be getting the certificate.

What I learnt?

In simple words, it was fun to learn new things. As there was a deadline for the tasks, I learnt to maintain constant discipline and complete devotion to the work. All the tasks were related to something different, so I got to learn about new things in the least time.
To be Honest, I learnt and used React JS for the very first time! And, it wasn’t that difficult how I thought it would be!

It was a great experience, combined with learning new things and implementing them in real life.
